Commentary Supposing Books The Eye of Minds (The Mortality Doctrine #1)

Michael is a gamer. And like most gamers, he almost spends more time on the VirtNet than in the actual world. The VirtNet offers total mind and body immersion, and it’s addictive. Thanks to technology, anyone with enough money can experience fantasy worlds, risk their life without the chance of death, or just hang around with Virt-friends. And the more hacking skills you have, the more fun. Why bother following the rules when most of them are dumb, anyway?

But some rules were made for a reason. Some technology is too dangerous to fool with. And recent reports claim that one gamer is going beyond what any gamer has done before: he’s holding players hostage inside the VirtNet. The effects are horrific—the hostages have all been declared brain-dead. Yet the gamer’s motives are a mystery.

The government knows that to catch a hacker, you need a hacker.

And they’ve been watching Michael. They want him on their team.

But the risk is enormous. If he accepts their challenge, Michael will need to go off the VirtNet grid. There are back alleys and corners in the system human eyes have never seen and predators he can’t even fathom—and there’s the possibility that the line between game and reality will be blurred forever.

This book is about a person named Michael. Michael is a game. He spends more time in the Virtnet than in reality. This book is all about his journey to stop Kaine. Michael is very talented with his hacking skills. Michel has two friends in this quest with him. Their names are, Sarah and Bryson. Virtnet seems like the real world. Once you are in there, everything is real, including the danger. Do you think Michael and his friends can do it? can they stop Kaine? There will be challenging obstacles

Had a chance to read the manuscript of this amazing novel, and I honestly think it is going to be even bigger than Maze Runner. If you are a Dashner fan, this is going to blow you away. And if you aren't this will make you one.As with all Dashner books this is a great combination of action and what the heck is going on here. Great read!

I read Maze Runner, but other than that I haven't had much experience with Dashner. I was disappointed with this book. My biggest issue is that if your character is supposed to be a great hacker, or really smart, then he should do some amazing hacking or something really smart. Throughout the book I was wondering why the protagonist was ignoring his hacking skills, ignoring clues, refusing to search more deeply, or interview potential sources more than superficially. Overall, this book made me

Such a bad book. Absolutely ridiculous. I couldn't finish it; I got maybe 25% of the way through, but it was mind-blowing; and not in a good way.Yes, I understand how a virtual reality "game" does not need to be realistic. But even the "real life" aspects are totally without any connection with "real life." Just as an example, why would a government agency kidnap a teenager, and then demand an apology from the teenager when he rebels against his captors? And then, the teenager actually does

Kindly skip the sentences that were underlined as they will contain spoilers. Before I get into the review of the novel, I'd like to point out that I was expecting this to be a bad rip off of Ready Player One. RPO's one of my favorite novels, so I had mountain high expectations for The Eye of Minds. Just like James Dashner's The Maze Runner, this one literally started with a mystery. I kinda like that about Dashner. A mystery at the very beginning tends to make the reader speculate possible

My thoughts after I finished this book:What the HELL did I just read?James Dashner's writing style is nothing like anything I've ever read, or anything I ever will read. It's simple and complex at the same time. It is full of so many contradictions, so many layers, so much depth that it's really impossible to describe his books. The thing about James Dashner:He does everything for a reason. No detail is too trivial. No plot twist too big or small. Everything matters. In the end, when everything

This book was pretty meh. At first I thought it reminded me of Ready Player One minus the nerd references and the humour. But as it went on it reminded me of Ready Player One less and less. I don't know if I will continue this series or not. I'll see if I ever get in the mood for it again in the future or not.
