Somewhere between a 3.5 and a 4 for me. This book was ultimately a good one, but way too melancholy and slow for a readathon. I appreciated how much Vera's attempt to be a bad kid were ruined by what a good person she was, deep down. I enjoyed being in her head, even when she didn't.

4.25/5 stars! Oh, this was actually really good!I especially liked Vera's straight-forward narration and the way she didn't gloss over anything. She mentioned periods, tampons and swearing, and it all felt very real. All of the main characters in this book felt very tangible and real by the way.
