I can't fault this because of my own discrepancies with it. Dante's writing is truly beautiful, and I'm glad to have read this work.However, our class discussion did not dissuade me from thinking that Dante was creepy. Honestly I was expecting a great deal more from this work. The introduction is nice but the way the book is done with Dante's mostly crazy notes just made my head explode. Who wants to read the breakdown of the poem you are going to read section by section? Now when he actually touches on something more relevant to the poems background it is really nice to read.
