So special!! These stories are so much fun to read. They are silly, imaginative, inciteful and laugh out loud fun to read. I think I enjoyed them more as an adult than many children do. The English authors seem to have such a wonderful way with words. Read them to your children or read them yourself just for the fun of it!!You don;t need 5 stars from me to read this classic. There is nothing here not to love. Particularly the amazing illustrations! Milne manages to recapture childhood, and in this last chapter, to hint at its end in a way we readers recognize by the characters do not. Once again, after rereading a few times, the last few pages brought tears. And this time it leaves me wanting to call my grandchildren. This is a not-to-be-missed book, along with its prequel, no matter what your age.
I was sold with the first sentence: "Winnie the Pooh lived under the name of Sanders." This with a picture of Pooh seated on a bench outside his home, with "Sanders" on a sign above his door. I laughed out loud. If you never read this book, it's time you took a second look, to laugh at all the jokes that are written for the adult reading to the child.
Wonderful collection of children's tales featuring Pooh and the gang. You can see why the characters are still popular today.
